PortaFab Mezzanines from Unistrut Cincinnati	Unistrut Cincinnati for: PortaFab Mezzanines Mezzanines Add Floor Space Type 3 Gusseted Beam to Column Connection This is the standard beam to column connection used in all our mezzanine designs. This unique design allows beams to rest on the gusseted seat while bolts are installed. In addtion, this adaptation of the ASIC type 3 connection works to reduce seismic and lateral loads that cause the inverted pendulum effect, eliminating the need for knee bracing which can interfere with the useable cube of space underneath the mezzanine deck. Panelized Guardrail System Our factory-welded, one piece guardrail quickly fastens to the mezzanine deck. Installers typically lift these preassembled guardrail sections to the top of the mezzanine deck and then quickly fasten them into place without the use of scaffolding or ladders. IBC 2006 Compliant Guard and Hand Rail on Stairs Our one-piece, stair and landing allow for easy installation and are designed in compliance with the latest version of the IBC. All stairs include IBC compliant guards and handrails as a standard. Type 1 Fully Rigid Beam to Column Connections For areas with extreme seismic for exposure, PK Structures incorporates a Type 1 Fully Rigid connection for beam to column connections. The incorporation of this ASIC type connection allows us to create a mezzanine without the cross bracing commonly used by our competitors. Cross bracing dramatically effects the useable space under the mezzanine. Cross bracing also limits the layout design flexibility of modular walls when they are added to enclose the space below the mezzanine deck or when creating large two-story structures.
